He is very proud of his large stock of canvasses.  I even had to make space in my studio!

My hubby does canvas stretching for the local artists and  is very busy as his work is of the best quality and he is very focused on client service.

A visiting whale

I took this photo of a humpback whale not far from our home.  It was on its way to Mocambique where the water is warmer.

There are lots of whales to watch during this time of the year and the weather is fine, so yesterday we went to Hermanus to visit all the stalls at the Whale festival and to watch some whales.

the sea as inspiration for a painting . . .

I attended some art classes since 2004 but decided to do my own thing from now on.  So every now and then when i am inspired  i  paint.. In this case the sea was my inspiration -- we live in a suburb of Hermanus,  a stone throw from the sea

My hubby and I are passionate about gardening. We bought this house a few years ago and renovated the garden using mostly indigenous fynbos.

We also created a water feature in a corner to make it more interesting.

We focussed mostly on indigenous plants like this pincussion. And what a lovely sight . . .



We used a broken clay pot as a focus point.
